Project H.E.A.R.T

(Humanoid Emotional Assistant Robots in Teaching)

Humanoid robots are appearing in more and more areas of daily life (e.g. as receptionists in hotels and travel industry, as customer advisors in department stores, or as mobile information points at fairs and events, etc.) Meanwhile, they can even be purchased for the price of a small car, like the robot 'Pepper' by Softbank Robotics.

What are the consequences of the increasing use of humanoid robots in everyday life for individuals and for the society ?

Here we are only at the beginning of research. In order to gain corresponding insights, relevant and fruitful research questions and hypotheses have to be formulated, which are then empirically examined in order to arrive at generalizable statements and result in "robot apps" suitable for everyday use.

The aim of the project is to explore the topic "robots in everyday life" using qualitative methods in order to generate research questions and hypotheses that can then be empirically investigated on a larger population.
